you of who you really are - “The Answer” weekend
retreat
Oct 17 to Oct 19, 2008
Get away from life’s pressures and rediscover ease and
joy during this unique weekend away. Boutique travel company
Lifestyle Journeys and author Lindsey Dawson offer inner voyaging
and outer pampering in Rotorua - where all of nature’s
forces shimmer and shine.

| Our retreat
venue - the historic Princes Gate Hotel, Rotorua. |
In this place of crystal springs, volcanic
vents and whispering forest glades, take time out for yourself
and relax in good company. Expect pleasures like walking in
beautiful forest, soaking in thermal pools, revelling in engaging
talk and getting in touch again with the essential you. It
will be relaxing, fun, inspiring and exhilarating.
Rotorua bustles with colourful attractions, so when you’re
not indulging in your elemental connection with nature, you
can enjoy diversions like cafe-hopping, shopping and spa treatments.
Or you can just put your feet up for a while!
During the weekend you’ll immerse yourself, step by
step, in the beauty of the four elements, realising their
power to shake you up, calm you down, soothe any sore spots
and reignite forgotten dreams.
We begin on Friday night with a candle-lit welcome as we get
to know each other and, in honour of the fire element, get
a glow on in anticipation of the rest of the weekend.
We’re staying at the historic Princes Gate Hotel, 107
years old and now a four-star gracious lady, with chandeliers,
broad verandahs laced with fretwork, and its own private garden
and hot pools.
All day Saturday and on Sunday morning we get grounded with
earth, water and air elements as we encounter Rotorua’s
primal essence – its underground heat and venting steam.
The weekend will be a mix of outdoor and indoor experiences
designed to draw you closer to nature and celebrate your own
nature. We’ll also enjoy the fun of a special lunch
in the gorgeous private dining room at Rotorua’s art
deco Blue Baths, and a Saturday night cabaret dinner show
at our hotel. Good food, good wine, good song.
As we leave for home after lunch on Sunday we’ll be
well buoyed with new energy, returning to ‘real’
life in the knowledge that nature gives us, every day, everything
we need to live our lives to the full.
Note: We start on Friday night, assuming that many of you
will have had to travel to get there. We finish at mid-Sunday
afternoon to allow travelling time for those who may have
to be back at work on Monday morning.
What to bring: An open, enquiring mind and a soul that needs
nourishing (and we’ve all got those!). If you have a
favourite journal you might like to have it to hand. Bring
a raincoat or umbrella for any walking in the wet, plus a
swimsuit for soaking in hot springs. There are no special
fitness requirements as the walking we’ll do is flat
and easy. You’ll just need comfy shoes. Note that Rotorua
can be chilly in October, so don’t forget a sweater
or shawl.
