ABOUT

I thrive on story telling and making art. Creating and editing three leading magazines in my journalism career earned me a lifetime achievement award from the NZ Magazine Publishers Association. As well as writing ten fiction and non-fiction books, I enjoy teaching others about writing pieces that explore and celebrate their own lives. I also love messing with paints on canvas and board, exploring how shapes, colour, ink and emotions forge who we are and where we’ve come from.

BACKSTORY
I used to head teams that created monthly magazines for women of my generation. We delighted in pushing out issues packed full of stories that mattered in the times we were living in.

The first title (launched in 1983) was More – for women who wanted more out their lives.

In 1991, I dreamt up another start-up up called Next.

Then Grace had a short but vivid life around the turn of the century.
